Epta confirms its sponsorship of World Refrigeration Day 2024: now in its sixth edition, it is a unique opportunity to highlight the value of refrigeration in modern society, celebrating the human and technological protagonists of the sector.

An important moment also for the workers of the air-conditioning, heating and heat pump sector, World Refrigeration Day sets itself the goal of bringing closer together the two segments which share temperature control.

The choice to emphasize the centrality of an efficient management of temperatures also aims at creating new widespread awareness of the role of thermal regulation in a world marked by a growing need for energy efficiency because of climate changes.

A REGULATORY LOOK: THE NEW F-GAS REGULATION IN THE EU

World Refrigeration Day explores the new frontiers of refrigeration and becomes a sounding board for the key regulatory developments in the sector, such as the New European Regulation (EU) 2024/573 on fluorinated gases, which came into force on 11 March 2024 and lays down the progressive elimination of hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) in Europe by 2050.

This law which aims at redefining the refrigeration sector is currently under consideration by the key players of the sector, who are assessing its challenges, opportunities, and associated skills.

To comply with the New Regulation, Epta, pioneer in designing and developing high performing technologies with natural refrigerant fluids, presents the market with a full range of solutions for the Retail, Food &Beverage and Ho.Re.Ca. sector, which range from CO2 transcritical modular refrigeration units to CO2 remote cabinets, to propane plug-ins, and Integral air and water condensation solutions” declares Francesco Mastrapasqua, Institutional Affairs Manager of Epta, who concludes “The Group, which has recently achieved the important goal of 3000 CO2 systems in the world, does not limit itself to regulatory compliance, but has the goal of making innovation sustainable for the entire sector”.

WOMEN IN THE REFRIGERATION SECTOR

Epta promotes female participation in the refrigeration sector, by actively supporting the International Network of Women in Cooling, an international network of organisations that contributes to encouraging the professional career of women in the sector.

A priority commitment for the Group, proven by the approval of the first Manifesto of Diversity&Inclusion in 2023, a document which is the result of in-house team work led by the new committee D&I, supported in every phase by Valore D, the association which has been committed to effective gender equality for more than ten years, to zero the gender gap in terms of skills and wages and with which the Group signed the Manifesto for female employment last year.
