Eurovent Issues New Recommendation on Incomplete Product Deliveries – A Step Forward for Regulatory Clarity
Eurovent, the European industry association for Indoor Climate, Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies, has published Recommendation 14/8, a document of significant relevance for manufacturers and suppliers operating under Ecodesign and Energy Labelling frameworks.
The Recommendation responds to the European Commission’s December 2024 FAQs, which provided new clarifications on the placing on the market of products and systems delivered in parts.
These developments carry important implications for legal compliance, documentation, conformity assessment, and market surveillance across the HVACR sector.
Key features of the document include:
- A detailed legal and operational analysis of the recent FAQ,
- Clarification of compliance requirements in cases involving incomplete product deliveries,
-
Practical guidance to support business operators in ensuring conformity with applicable EU legislation.
As stated by Maurizio Orlandi in his role of President of Product Group Commercial Refrigeration Equipment (PG-RDC) of Eurovent:
“The PG-RDC participants compiled all relevant content from previous FAQs and the Blue Guide to create a cohesive and practical reference. This comprehensive document offers valuable insight into a complex regulatory area.”
The Recommendation was developed through the collaborative efforts of PG-RDC members, including Epta, and forms part of Eurovent’s broader mission to facilitate the effective implementation of EU product legislation. The group represents key segments of the commercial refrigeration industry, including refrigerated display cabinets, [SD1] beverage coolers, ice-cream freezers, and refrigeration packs.
Epta, as an active contributor to Eurovent’s technical and regulatory working groups, is proud to support initiatives that strengthen industry compliance and promote transparency. This latest Recommendation exemplifies the importance of cooperation between industry leaders and regulatory bodies in advancing shared goals.
