EPTA SUPPORTS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

On 8 March, International Women’s Day, Epta renews its commitment to promote female leadership and actively contribute to enhancing diversity within the Group. A daily commitment which takes the form of numerous initiatives, for an inclusive business culture that offers equal opportunities.
The roots of International Women’s Day
A celebration in honour of the achievements and social, economic, and political progress of women, which has encouraged a positive change for over a century directed at bridging the gender gap. International Women’s Day is rooted in the early twentieth century when protests began against gender inequalities.
In 1908, for example, more than 15,000 women marched for better working conditions, shorter hours, higher wages, and the right to vote.
Supporting women
In parallel with 8 March, Epta organises the first appointment of the series “Raccolta di Idee al femminile!” (Collection of women’s ideas!), conceived for female workers in the plant of Limana, with the goal of sharing their experiences and supporting their professional growth. A series of meetings which is a precious opportunity to pool common suggestions on how to improve life in Epta and shape a more inclusive future. A project which inserts itself into the multiple initiatives launched in 2022 in favour of female empowerment:
- Organisation of Incontri al Femminile (Meetings for Women) inside the plants and Italian sites to give a voice to women in the production departments and support their career within the Group.
- Participation in Valore D, a network of more than 300 companies which promote gender equality and an inclusive culture in Italy, together with the signing of its Manifesto for female employment. A document which is deepened monthly through the collection of ideas and thoughts.
- Training courses focused on the concepts of Diversity & Inclusion because diversity is an added value for Epta.
Attention to gender equality which continues in 2023, thanks to the reconfirmation of the existing projects and implementation of new activities such as:
- The programme Mentorship al Femminile (Female Mentorship), geared to women working in offices, to promote their leadership and favour talent development.
- Presence of Epta D&J Journey Committee, a committee created to suggest and stimulate global projects on D&I.
- Greater attention to work-life balance, to conditions of parenthood and caregivers, thanks to a higher percentage of smart-working.
“The success of Epta lies in the diversity of its people and their ideas. This richness is daily enhanced by the company, in harmony with the People focused goals of the Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.” Comments Valentina Bertelle, Epta HRBP, who concludes “Each day, we are committed to shaping an equal and gratifying culture, which aims at guaranteeing everyone the same opportunities, recognising individual needs.”
