EPTA PRESENTS UNIT: THE MANIFESTO FOR CIRCULAR REFRIGERATION

Epta presents UNIT, the first Iarp-branded refrigeration counter completely designed and industrialised according to circular principles. In a context in which the entire commercial refrigeration sector is facing a radical shift in approach, Epta has chosen to act in advance by adopting an industrial vision inspired by the circular economy, which is already translating future European circularity requirements into real solutions.

MODULARITY AND SUSTAINABILITY IN ACTION, WITH UNIT

The UNIT refrigerated counter designed for the Food & Beverage segment sees modularity and sustainability in action. The result of a design strategy based on the Design for Disassembly principle, UNIT has been created to simplify maintenance and upgrade operations as much as possible: each component, including the compressor, is easy to access and replace thanks to a drawer and handle system that facilitates removal and assembly of the units. The structure also features an optimised construction logic with a reduced number of elements and multi-functional components, all with a view to cutting downtime and operating costs.

On the sustainability front, UNIT adopts materials with high recyclability and low environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle. The insulation lining, for example, is made of completely biodegradablenatural cork, while the plastics used come from recycled sources, guaranteeing strength, durability and easy end-of-life processing. 

The 100% natural refrigeration with isobutane R600a to ensure high coolingperformance, thanks to ODP and GWP values of zero and three respectively, completes the UNIT picture.   

UNIT is the refrigeration counter where the end is transformed into a new beginning, overcoming outdated production and consumption logics, making it a truly circular manifesto for Epta.
