Epta is officially committed to emission reduction and Net-Zero target under SBTi
We are proud to announce that Epta officially committed to emission reduction and Net-Zero target, representing the maximum level of ambition under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This milestone reinforces our long-term commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to the global fight against climate change through science-based strategies.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions to set greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets in line with the latest climate science and the goals of the Paris Agreement.
The initiative independently assesses and validates science-based targets for corporates, financial institutions, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) worldwide. While SBTi provides technical guidance throughout the process, final decisions are taken during the formal target validation phase.
Our commitment: emissions reduction across the value chain
Epta’s commitment represents the first step of our activity with SBTi. We are going to present science-based target for reducing our carbon footprint throughout all our value chain.
In particular, our actions will be structured to reduce the three internationally recognized emission scopes:
Scope 1 – Direct emissions generated by our operations, with a strong focus on reducing emissions during the production phase.
Scope 2 – Indirect emissions related to the energy we purchase and use across our sites.
Scope 3 – Indirect emissions from value chain, including the ones by our products after they are sold worldwide.
By addressing all three scopes, Epta takes a comprehensive, science-based approach to decarbonization, that will be supported by a clear roadmap, measurable milestones, and transparent monitoring, ensuring accountability and continuous progress over time.
Epta’s commitment to the SBTi marks a natural step forward in a journey we began many years ago: from the publication of our first CSR Report in 2012 to the adoption of the Integrated Report in 2021, we have continuously broadened our perspective and strengthened our ability to track and communicate our impact.
