Epta and FAI: over a decade of preserving Italy’s cultural heritage
For more than ten years, Epta has proudly stood alongside FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano, the National Trust for Italy, in a shared commitment to protecting and enhancing the country’s extraordinary cultural, artistic and landscape heritage. As a Corporate Golden Donor since 2015, the Group has supported initiatives that preserve places of historical significance while making them accessible to an ever-wider audience, reinforcing the role of culture as a driver of education, awareness and sustainable development.
A partnership rooted in shared values
Epta’s collaboration with FAI was born in memory of Luigi Nocivelli, the founder of Epta, who was a great friend and supporter of FAI. His belief in the importance of giving back to society continues to inspire the company today, shaping a partnership that goes beyond philanthropy to create lasting value for communities.
Over the years, Epta has contributed to a number of significant conservation and enhancement projects. In 2016, the company supported the artistic and architectural restoration of the façades of the Abbazia di San Fruttuoso (Camogli, Genoa), honouring Luigi Nocivelli’s legacy. This was followed by long-term support for the enhancement of Villa dei Vescovi in Luvigliano di Torreglia (Padua), one of the Veneto region’s most remarkable Renaissance residences.
In 2025, to celebrate ten years of collaboration, Epta further strengthened its commitment by supporting the cultural enhancement and storytelling activities across five FAI properties: Podere Lovara (Levanto, La Spezia), Villa Rezzola (Lerici, La Spezia), Monte Fontana Secca (Setteville, Belluno), Case Montana in the Valley of the Temples (Agrigento), and the Chiesa e Convento di San Bernardino – Casa Olivetti (Ivrea, Turin). These initiatives help visitors discover the history, identity and cultural significance of these unique places, encouraging greater appreciation of Italy’s heritage.
Looking ahead to 2026, Epta will support FAI in creating the multimedia storytelling experience for the new reception area of the Memoriale Brion in Altivole (Treviso), Carlo Scarpa’s iconic masterpiece and one of FAI’s most emblematic sites. The new audiovisual content will illustrate the architectural, historical and symbolic value of the Memoriale through an engaging narrative available in multiple languages, including Italian Sign Language (LIS), making the experience increasingly inclusive and accessible.
Preserving heritage for future generations
Through its long-standing partnership with FAI, Epta continues to contribute to one of the Foundation’s core objectives: transforming its properties into centres of cultural education, where beauty becomes a tool for knowledge, awareness and collective growth.
This commitment reflects Epta’s purpose of contributing to a more sustainable future by preserving not only natural resources but also the cultural heritage that defines communities and their identity. It is also a tangible expression of the "Give Back" principle that was so dear to Luigi Nocivelli and continues to guide the company’s leadership today. By supporting FAI’s mission, Epta reaffirms that protecting heritage is an investment in future generations, ensuring that places of exceptional beauty continue to inspire, educate and create shared value for society.
