Epta has received recognition for Sustainable Development in 2018, which is awarded to the most deserving Italian companies in the green economy field. The award ceremony of the tenth edition of this event was held on 8 November at the 2018 Ecomondo fair in Rimini.

The Group, which was selected in the Energy from Renewable Sources category, stood out for the innovative drive of its FTE Full Transcritical Efficiency, which has wholly responded to the assessment criteria: effectiveness of the environmental results attained, with particular reference to the mitigation of the climate crisis; technological content; economic and employment results achieved; and the possibility of diffusion in Italy and abroad.

With more than 70 installations in Italy and 140 around the world, energy savings of up to 10% compared to a traditional CO2 booster plant and installation and maintenance costs reduced by as much as 20%, FTE combines simplicity, reliability, functionality and performance, and takes a new approach to natural refrigeration. Available on a large scale, it is ideal in all climate conditions and is a valid solution for retailers who are obliged to comply with the guidelines imposed by the F-Gas Regulation in Europe and by the Kigali Agreement at international level.

Furthermore, by increasing the number of transcritical CO2 systems and accelerating their adoption, FTE allows Epta to make a significant contribution towards sharing specific skills and knowledge and to the specialisation of technical staff.

Lastly, as further confirmation of its validity, FTE has been included in the prestigious Life C4R – Carbon 4 Retail Refrigeration project. This is an initiative funded by the European Union with the aim of defining new standards and technologies for natural refrigeration in the Retail sphere and is contemplated in the European LIFE17 programme, which is intended to encourage the protection of the environment and the climate, through the promotion of more than 35 projects.
