Leading actors: Bonnet Névé and CEF Nord. At last, the age of transcritical CO2 arrives in France with the first supermarket of Beaurrain Les Arras, inaugurated 14th November 2011. An eco-friendly store where the cold chain has played a part of vital importance, starring leading actors Bonnet Névé and installation company CEF Nord. Leading light of the installation was the Eptagreen compressor pack powered by transcritical CO2 at positive and negative temperatures, custom-designed for Carrefour.  Reduced carbon footprint, efficiency and a better consumer experience for clients, thanks to visual merchandising carefully planned studied down to the last detail by Bonnet Névé.

Eco-smart solutions for energy saving, too - the units chosen have transparent doors and covers, double-glazed for energy savings of over 50%. The real Oscar goes to the excellent collaboration with CEF Nord in carrying out this pilot project – without doubt, a model for the future.

New frozen food covers for shopping within everyone’s reach

Costan and Bonnet Névé launch on the market, respectively, Tortuga 2 and Crocodile 2, Cosmo4ECO, Galaxie4ECO and Agora4ECO, frozen food covers of modern design, transparent for increasing ease of access to products. Innovative solutions that guarantee excellent visual impact and easy access to the products displayed, keeping energy consumption to a minimum. The increased size – no less than 1250mm – of the sliding modules reduces the number of vertical profiles, enhancing product visibility inside the tray.

The new look cover, in just one simple action, enables greater opening, both vertically and horizontally. Tortuga 2 and Cosmos4ECO have a push-lid system, so two-thirds can be open on both sides simultaneously, while a self-closing mechanism returns modules into place. What’s more, the handle can be pushed to slide the central glass panel to 100% opening, perfect for easy stocking. Crocodile 2, Agora4ECO and the end units are also extremely handy, with access to products on display for 75% of visible area.

Costan at the Leclerc Exhibition in Paris: “et tout devient clair!”

Costan took part in the exhibition organised in France by Leclerc, a nationwide, exclusive event created to facilitate collaboration between valued suppliers and managers or owners of sales points.

A wonderful shop window, at the Paris headquarters, for presenting the sales team, sharing our know-how and developing new business relations.  The numbers for these two days say it all: 180 exhibitors, over 900 visitors and 140 direct contacts for Costan with potential clients.

One interesting new project was E. LECLERC DRIVE, a development plan that foresees 1000 openings over the next five years. This new sales format involves ordering purchases on-line and picking them up in the next two hours from a designated area of the store, ready packed for loading into the car.  Here, the cold chain is of primary importance in ensuring perfect conservation of shopping up until collection.

The key event, not-to-be-missed for Costan, is also scheduled this year and is an important opportunity for presenting the range and new cold rooms, and exploiting Epta Service and the Retrofit solutions.

Costan invited to the stand of Electrolux Professional, at the eighth edition of MarcabyBolognaFiere: another proof of the great collaboration that has always united the two companies.

With over 20,000 m² of exhibition space, Marca is the largest event in 2012 dedicated to the big names of Large-Scale Distribution in Italy and abroad.  

2011 numbers are significant - over 400 exhibitors and more than 4500 trade operators - promising Marca 2012 as a prestigious shop window for the food, non-food, packaging and food sector service industries.
