New F-Gas Regulation comes into force on March, 11th

The new F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573 has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union and is in force from today 11/3/24.

The new Regulation establishes the total elimination of hydrofluorocarbons by 2050, with a sharp cut in the availability as early as next year.

The restrictions and bans provided for in the text of the Regulation also aim at drastically reducing the use of fluorinated refrigerants and their GWP in the new products and refrigeration systems which will be sold in Europe and around the world and at making the entire food distribution chain more sustainable, in line with the climate goals of the European Union.

F-GAS REGULATION: A NATURAL STEP TOWARDS CLIMATE NEUTRALITY

The entry into force of the new F-GAS Regulation is a major step towards climate neutrality, marking at the same time a fundamental change of direction in favour of natural refrigeration.

Epta, pioneer in the design and development of high-efficiency technology based on natural refrigerants, such as hydrocarbons and CO2, has developed optimised solutions over the years that merge best performance with environmental sustainability.

The vision of Epta, constantly inspired by the principle of Sustainable Innovation, has been able to intercept market trends and the importance of technologies with a low environmental impact well in advance, in favour of new and important standards for the entire compartment.

Epta Group, as Green Transition Enabler and spokesperson of an increasingly natural refrigeration, cannot but welcome the new regulation and continues to remain at the side of its customers in tackling the challenges of the future.

The new F-GAS Regulation gives a clear signal to the market that real technological progress must put the environment first” states Francesco Mastrapasqua, Institutional Affairs Manager of Epta, who concludesWe have always been convinced that the elimination of F-Gases is the winning formula to minimise the environmental impact of refrigeration, we look to the future with great confidence and are in the front line to chart the course towards a sustainable transition”.
