Refrigeration 2030 Conference: with Epta to write the future of refrigeration

This appointment with the future of refrigeration is on 17 May, at Refrigeration 2030 in Paris. A one of a kind event organised by the European association Eurovent, in collaboration with Uniclima, Syndicat des Industries Thermiques, Aérauliques et Frigorifiques.

It is an interactive forum where it will be possible to take stock of trends and recent developments in Commercial Refrigeration and cold chain processes. It will be a seminar dedicated to all players from the sector starting with the targets established by the European Union for 2030: a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1990 levels, ensuring that there is a 27% increase in energy coming from renewable sources and a 27% improvement in energy efficiency *. The aim is to present concrete technologies and solutions to meet the challenging targets set by the EU laws while also suggesting amendments to regulations.
 
In this regard, Epta will be participating in the section “2030 solutions for supermarkets” with a speech by Francesco Mastrapasqua, Refrigeration Systems Marketing Manager entitled “F-Gas: how to move down the equatorial line and increase the refrigeration system efficiency? Challenges, market-ready solutions and new technological developments”. This speech will be an opportunity to illustrate the new CO2 FTE transcritical system launched at Euroshop. With its brand Iarp, Epta will be participating at Eu’Vend&Coffeena, the biennial trade fair dedicated to vending machines, that is scheduled to take place this year from 27-29 April in Cologne (Stand C026). The vending machines market has been growing constantly, and in Europe alone it has 295 million customers, 3.8 million machines and an annual turnover of 14.6 billion euro. 

Iarp operates in this sector and is fully focused on guaranteeing for its customers a service offering the highest level of interaction and convenience in the purchase experience, by developing innovative concepts to astonish users. In this regard, the brand will be attending the three-day event in Germany with its latest line, Iarp City Collection that is dedicated to ice-creams, snacks and drinks. Finally, Iarp also uses Fox and Stik logistics components. Fox - which is based on a eutectic plates system that guarantees the highest level of preservation of food and drinks - is an ideal container for transporting supplies of perishable products that are to be loaded into the vending machines. Stik was created as a model to be employed alongside vending machines in order to store items at a temperature of - 30 °. Epta at Thaifex 2017, The #EptaExperience conquers Asia

Encounter the #EptaExperience on Epta's Asia Pacific stand at Thaifex - World of Food Asia, scheduled to take place between 31 May and 4 June in Bangkok.

This is the largest event for the ASEAN economic community of the Food&Beverage, technology and Retail sectors that will involve the participation of more than 45,000 visitors and 2,000 Companies from all over the world. CONAD SAPORI & DINTORNI AND EPTA TOGETHER FOR THE SANTA MARIA NOVELLA STORE IN THE HEART OF FLORENCE

A “new work of art” has been yielded by the solid partnership between Epta and Conad Sapori&Dintorni: the solutions produced by the Costan, Eurocryor and Misa brands have been chosen to furnish the exclusive location at Florence’s main Santa Maria Novella train station.

The supermarket has created a showcase for its outstanding regional Italian produce, providing a convenient service for tourists and commuters passing through the station every day. Set out across two storeys, the interiors are divided into several departments, all of which share a retro, industrial chic design.

The most interesting area is the Delicatessen and Bakery section, where the transparency of the Eurocryor, Panorama and Panorama with Tower cabinets help ensure that the traditional dishes, such as tomato pasta and Florentine tripe, are rendered even more appealing. To provide a response to an increasingly sizeable trend which sees stores also becoming venues for people to meet and have a bite to eat, this department has introduced the “Area DeguStazione”, a dine-in area for eating products on sale at the delicatessen counter at leisure.

In addition, areas dedicated to impulse buys inside the station were a must: the Costan-branded vertical Opera plug-ins, with their slender and compact design, are perfect for enhancing the range of yogurts and fruit salads in the Cremeria area, waiting to “tempt” travellers with a mouth-watering snack or a cool drink.

In order to meet the needs of workers returning from the office and in search of something appealing for dinner, Epta has installed the Costan Chorus plug-ins in the butcher’s area. These cutting-edge promotional islands feature a modern and pared-down design. They are intelligent and robust, and have been created to provide an impeccable visual display of the products available, thereby boosting sales.

The traditional Lion Cubs also stand out in the Butcher’s department, along with the vertical positive Costan Gazelle cabinets and the negative Cayman cabinets in the self-service packaged goods aisle. They highlight the extensive selection of local produce and Verso Natura Conad products for demanding consumers, to perfection.

The installation is completed by the Misa with Epta Food Defence refrigerated cells featuring a new anti-bacterial system guarantees the highest standards for storing products, and a R134/CO2 unit with an energy-recuperation system, for a more sustainable store which is increasingly self-reliant in energy terms.

EPTA PRESENTS THE RETAIL STORE OF THE FUTURE AT SUPERMARKET 2020

Epta sponsored the first edition of "Supermarket 2020", the international conference organised by Retail Institute Italy. In the exclusive setting of Milan’s Four Seasons Hotel Retailers, associations and leading figures from the large-scale retail distribution sector met today for a debate on the future function of the "supermarket”.

In an increasingly complex market it has become necessary for Retailers to find the best way to benefit from the new digital equipment which is changing the shopping experience and acquiring an increasingly central role in retail strategies. EPTA THINK TANK, IMPROVING QUALITY AND EFFICIENCY

Great enthusiasm for the first Epta Think Tank Quality Breakthrough summit: a cross-function meeting that entailed participants from several business divisions carrying out a complete analysis of the management of certain fundamental processes within the Group, together drawing up an action plan that will allow the company to guarantee ever-greater quality and efficiency in the services it offers its Customers.

The initiative responds perfectly to the “#EptaExperience is the wayphilosophy. Epta once again confirms the company’s ability to unite cutting-edge technology, expertise and reliability with innovative and excellent service. This positions Epta as a trustworthy partner for Retailers looking for a single point of contact for creating complete, turnkey projects on a worldwide scale that can transform any store from a Point of Sale into a Point of Experience, contributing to Retailer success.

This three-day cycle of meetings saw the Quality, Installation, Service, Commerce, Purchasing, Marketing, Research & Development and Industrial teams come together to tackle two challenges: planning a concrete strategy for reducing non-conformities to zero in the products entering the market, and creating best practices for responding rapidly in the event of any problems encountered by the Customer.

For each macro goal, intermediate targets have been identified and assigned to the seven working groups. The unique combination of the across-the-board expertise and skills of the members of the teams has led to the development of strategies and operating methods, and defined a shared road-map over the course of the sessions.

The next meeting is envisaged at the end of 2017 or early in 2018: it will be an opportunity to evaluate the progress made by all the teams.

DESIGN AT THE SERVICE OF SUSTAINABILITY: EPTA WILL BE AT THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN

On 30 and 31 March the rendezvous with sustainable design will be in Turin, at the 2nd International Conference on Environmental Design. It is a meeting that is open to researchers from over the world, which the Epta Group will be attending to provide its contribution to the subject of improving quality of life.

The conference is an opportunity to present research and design activities in the context of Environmental Design and multisensory experience. The primary objective is incentivising an across-the-board collaboration between different disciplines, from design to anthropology, from administrative sciences to the engineering of materials, from medicine to architecture, in order to promote the creation of “smart”, flexible, adaptive and eco-compatible environments. Giorgio De Ponti Product strategy manager of the Epta Group is a member of the scientific committee and will be giving a speech on “Global Innovation & Food Design to increase sustainability”. He will be presenting interesting data from a study regarding the relationship between technology and consumer trends for reducing waste and winning the Zero Food Waste challenge.
